These Roses always put a smile on my face

Okay, so on this wet and gray day (which I do love especially since I'm starting to prep for Thanksgiving), I started thinking about the bright sunshiny roses in my previous yard. So let me start by saying that I have NEVER been a lover of cultivating roses. Although,

I do love looking at them. They are soooo high maintenance. So much work. Prone to disease and pests. The gardeners who grow these delicate beauties truly have my highest respect (to include several of my previous neighbors who had gorgeous roses in their yard). Now having said that, I was in my favorite nursery one year and saw these growing on a big trellis and fell in love, on the spot! Silly me, I had to have them. And boy, am I glad I did. They have taken my breath away every year they start to bloom. The work, fertilizing and the thorns are all so worth it. These were my first and only David Austin, Shrub Roses I have ever had and they lived up to their name. These are Golden Celebration. And Celebration is a very appropriate name. They looked so bright and sunshiny climbing up that trellis every year. They make a major statement. One of these beauties is quite the gift to the gardener or rose lover in your life. Just wanted to share some sunshine on this cold wet day.
