I've been making these planters for the past several Christmas', mostly all items I already had around the house. And they turned out AWESOME!! Items you'll need:

  • Planters - use any kind you have (I got these about 5 years ago from Lowes)

  • Fallen tree limbs from around my yard

  • cut Tea Olive branches (my neighbor's that she planted between our yards and she let me use)

  • cut branches from my GoldMop Threadbranch Cypress Shrub (I bought this from Home Depot about 6 years ago - it's an Evergreen and Looks awesome in so many arrangements).

  • 2 cans of White Spray Paint

  • 1 bunch of red berries and pinecones from Home Depot - sold in bunches during Holiday season specifically to decorate with.

First, I spray painted the fallen tree limbs (i spread out plastic trash bags on my driveway and sprayed them there.

After they dried, I stuck them in the dirt in the planter, around the center and then worked my way out. Next was the tea olive branches, then filled the gaps with the cypress branches. Lastly, I stuck in the berries and pinecone sticks for that pop of red.

Voila! Your Christmas porch arrangement - one year I draped battery fairy lights in it. Looked great at night. Just have fun. Look at what you can do with a little imagination and a very tiny little bit of money! Christmas Arrangements can get expensive. but with some crativity, you can do it too!!.
